My 95 year old Father entered Halifax hospice on 4/20/21. He knew his time was near and he told me he wished to be cremated. He left all other details to me. I asked a few members of my Church (Grace Episcopal Port Orange) if they could advise me in finding a Funeral home. Several people mentioned Cardwell, Baggett & Summers Funeral Home. When the time came, I asked Halifax hospice to call Cardwell, Baggett & Summers Funeral Home. They came very quickly, early Saturday morning. My dealings were with Joe Garret and Mary.
I was very confused and unsure of the process. Joe and Mary were very friendly and patient with me. They provided the exact services I requested. I felt very comfortable. The prices quoted to me were the exact price I paid. There was no pressure or attempts to sell me any services I was not interest in. Although price wasn't an issue, the cremation costs were much lower than the costs for my Brother, who passed away in North Carolina, in January. My Father's remains were treated with dignity and respect. I am very grateful to Joe and Mary for all they did for myself and my family.
My eldest son Shawn transitioned at the young age of 36.
Tami , Mary and the rest of the team has gone above and beyond helping our family deal with his passing.
Everything we requested was granted and even things we did not think about the suggested.
On the day of his viewing Tami came in one her day off to be with us, her team on duty were super phoneminal.
We were truly blessed to have Tami and her team by our side through this sad event.
On behalf of the entire Khan family ( not just blood family ) , from the bottom of our hearts.
Thank you for everything you did for us.
May all of you forever be blessed for what you offer grieving families.
Endless love and respect.
