Life Story for Hector Velazquez

Hector Velazquez
Héctor Luis Velázquez was born on October 24th, 1924 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Juana Rivera and Portalatin Velazquez. He grew up in Puerto Rico where he met and fell in love with Daisy Vega. They began growing their family with the birth of their first child together, a girl, in 1954. Soon after, they moved to the United States where they continued to grown their family with the birth of 7 more children to include 5 girls and 2 boys. Héctor was a beloved, charismatic, hardworking husband and father who loved to travel and explore with his family. He was known for being great with his hands and the go-to guy for car mechanics or later on appliance repairs, you name it he fixed it. He was friendly, outgoing and loved to tell stories or share some of his wisdom. Héctor "Don Luis" Velázquez was loved by a large family that he helped to create and bring together to include 8 children, 3 step-children with his second wife Nilda, 29 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. On Tuesday August 15th, 2017 Héctor went home to be with the Lord and reunited with loved ones who passed before him. He is pre-deceased by his first son Carlos from a previous relationship, his former wife Daisy, and their first child together Carmen. His memory will go on and live forever in the hearts of those he left behind.
